Local governments across various Polish counties are implementing infrastructure and equipment upgrades through the Population Protection and Civil Defense Program to enhance regional safety. In Piotrków County, authorities are developing temporary shelters in Wola Krzysztoporska and Gomulin designed to protect up to 240 people. To ensure functionality, the ground level around the basement will be raised by approximately 0.90 meters. However, the expansion of these responsibilities has met with administrative concerns. The Association of Rural Communes of the Republic of Poland (ZGWRP) has expressed support for organizing civil defense ~~and mobilization procedures~~ but warns that a draft regulation from the Ministry of Interior and Administration imposes “significant new organizational, evidentiary, and documentation duties” without providing necessary funding.
