Polish municipal childcare infrastructure expansion

Polish municipalities are expanding childcare and preschool infrastructure through various national and European funding programs.

In Gmina Golina, an investment of approximately 1.7 million PLN was announced for the ‘Kącik Krasnala – Gminny Klub Malucha’ project. Funded by the ‘Active Toddler 2022–2029’ program via the National Recovery Plan (KPO), the initiative aims to create 24 new places for children up to age three, including support for those with disabilities.

Subsequent developments saw the opening of new facilities in Pogwizdów and Ostrow Lubelski. The Pogwizdów nursery and preschool complex received over 7 million PLN from the ‘Aktywny Maluch 2022–2029’ program, supplemented by 3 million PLN from the European Funds for Social Development (FERS) to cover initial operating costs. This expansion contributes to a regional trend in Podkarpacie, where nursery availability has increased and the number of municipalities lacking such services has significantly declined. In Ostrow Lubelski, a new modern nursery and preschool building was also inaugurated to enhance early childhood education and care.
