Polish volunteer fire department equipment upgrades

Overview

Volunteer fire departments (OSP) in Poland have been acquiring new rescue and firefighting vehicles to enhance their operational capabilities.

In Bieździedza, the municipality of Kołaczyce secured 270,000 PLN to purchase a 4x4 rescue vehicle with a chassis no older than 2020. This equipment is intended to assist with medical emergencies, vegetation fires, and removing petroleum substances from roads in difficult terrain.

In Michałowice, the OSP expanded its fleet by acquiring a MAN TGA 26.430 heavy rescue vehicle through cooperation with the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service (PSP) in Kraków. This addition brings the unit’s total to four combat vehicles, aimed at improving response times and effectiveness during regional emergencies.
