Coahuila continues to maintain political and economic stability relative to the rest of Mexico. While the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) faces national decline, it maintains a level of permanence in Coahuila, where its presence is linked to the maintenance of security, peace, and public order. This environment has been recognized by Coparmex Nacional as a driver for business development. The state is cited for its ability to attract capital and generate employment due to high security levels in cities such as Piedras Negras, Saltillo, and Torreón, as well as significant labor stability, including a 31-year period without a strike. Between 2024 and 2026, Coahuila confirmed 201 investments totaling over 172.5 billion pesos, which are projected to generate approximately 78,519 direct jobs.
