Overview

Political tensions and physical altercations have escalated within the Mexican legislature. Federal Deputy Carlos Canturosas Villarreal condemned instances of shoving and personal insults in the Congress of the Union, describing such behavior as “shameful” and warning that increasing polarization poses a risk to democracy.
