Portugal announces the New 7 Wonders ~~contest: National finalists announced~~ winners

The “New 7 Wonders of Portugal” ~~competition is progressing through regional stages to select monuments for national semi-finals. From Trás-os-Montes, the “Moderno Escondido” complex in Picote, the Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora da Graça, and Casa de Mateus have also advanced. Recent updates confirm that the Palace Hotel da Curia will advance in the ‘20th Century’ category, alongside other regional winners such as Leiria • Great Works: Aqueduto da Usseira, Centum Cellas, and Jardim do Paço Episcopal. Following the Alentejo and Ribatejo regional competition, several sites have secured spots in the national semi-finals. These include the Santarém Cathedral, the Santarém Municipal Market, and the Casa Museu dos Patudos in Alpiarça. Additionally, the Igreja da Misericórdia de Tavira from the Algarve region has progressed.
