Overview

In late June 2026, President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated several Inpres road segments in Gorontalo and North Sumatra, stressing their role in regional connectivity, lower logistics costs and support for agricultural and fishery markets. A Saiful Mujani survey showed his approval fell from 81 % in late 2025 to about 51 % in July 2026. In response, he created the National Park Management Financing Innovation Task Force, headed by his brother Hashim Djojohadikusumo, to mobilize new funding for protected‑area management under the same decree and instruction. The move underscores the president’s use of Inpres mechanisms to address infrastructure, wildlife protection and fiscal challenges within a single term.
