Alejandra Rubio and Carlo Costanzia welcome daughter Tessa

Overview

Alejandra Rubio and partner Carlo Costanzia welcomed their second child, a daughter named Tessa, on August 30, 2026, at the Hospital Universitario Fundación Jiménez Díaz in Madrid. The name Tessa serves as a tribute to the couple’s grandmothers, María Teresa Campos and Elsa Costanzia di Costigliole, acting as a diminutive of Teresa to honor the late journalist’s legacy. While Rubio had previously suggested she might avoid traditional family names, the couple has since shared glimpses of their new life on social media, highlighting quiet moments with their eldest son, Carlo Costanzia Jr. The birth has brought renewed attention to the interpersonal dynamics between the families. Following comments made by Mar Flores suggesting that family members outside her immediate circle, including Rubio, came ‘in the package,’ Terelu Campos addressed the situation. While Campos noted that the expression ‘does not look pretty,’ she clarified that she does not believe there was any malicious intent behind the remark and denied any active conflict, maintaining that while they are not friends, they are ‘not enemies.’ Additionally, Alejandra Rubio marked the third anniversary of the death of her grandmother, the prominent journalist María Teresa Campos. Rubio shared a social media tribute expressing her wish that her grandmother could have met her children. Following the birth, Mar Flores provided updates on the family's transition. Speaking at a fashion event in Madrid, Flores described the growth of the family as a beautiful experience but noted that the new parents are currently ‘hasta arriba’ (very busy) as they manage intense routines and prioritize rest while adapting to the needs of both the newborn and Carlo Jr. In her first public appearance since the birth, Rubio debuted a new hairstyle and expressed that she and her partner are experiencing a period of happiness.
