Preparations for the 16 August Palio di Siena, dedicated to the Madonna dell'Assunta, have progressed through veterinary inspections and competitive trials. Veterinary assessments at the Il Ceppo clinic concluded with 95 horses considered potential candidates, with Dr. Carlo Alberto Minniti reporting an “excellent clinical and sanitary status” despite concerns regarding high temperatures. ~~Following~~ To manage extreme heat, the ~~approval~~ Municipality of ~~35 horses for~~ Siena postponed the ~~Tratta, trials~~ assembly of the ‘palco delle comparse’ to the early morning of 14 August to protect workers from temperatures forecasted to reach 37-38 degrees Celsius. Discussions also emerged regarding horse welfare, with proposals to exempt them from the ‘Corteo Storico’ parade to prevent heat exhaustion. Trials in Piazza del Campo have yielded various results. The Contrada dell'Onda won the first trial on 13 August with jockey Andrea Sanna riding Viso d’Angelo. The Contrada della Giraffa saw success ~~with~~ in both ~~Euskali~~ the second and third trials, featuring jockey Elias Mannucci and horses Euskaldi and Diamante ~~Sauro, while the~~ Sauro.
