Primary Hydrogen exploration expansion in Canada

Overview

Primary Hydrogen Corp. has expanded its exploration portfolio in Canada through the acquisition of new natural hydrogen projects.

In mid-August 2026, the company staked the Northumberland Natural Hydrogen Project in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia. This project covers approximately 1,166 hectares along the northern margin of the Cumberland Basin. Initial work is expected to focus on data compilation, structural interpretation, and soil-gas orientation surveys.

By late August 2026, the company further expanded into Ontario by acquiring 313 contiguous claims in the Thunder Bay Mining District. Named the Seagull North project, this 65-square-kilometer area is located adjacent to the company’s existing Seagull project and near active drilling programs investigating hydrogen and other mineralizations. The Seagull North area directly borders claims held by a joint venture between Rift Minerals Inc and Anteros Metals Inc, where hydrogen-bearing gases with a concentration of “0.65 percent (6,500 ppm)” were previously identified.

In late August 2026, the company also increased its presence in Nova Scotia by securing the Wallace Project. This acquisition includes four licenses covering 68 claims and approximately 1,101 hectares near Wallace Bay. Combined with the Northumberland project, the company’s holdings in the Cumberland Basin now total six licenses, 140 claims, and roughly 2,267 hectares. CEO David Jackson noted the Wallace site met internal evaluation criteria, though no hydrogen deposits have been recorded at the historic Malagash salt mine site. Upcoming activities include data integration, geological structural interpretation, and soil air surveys, alongside the Wicheeda North drilling program scheduled for fall 2026.

Additionally, the company reported a minor administrative correction regarding the reversal of 10,000 Canadian dollars in subscriptions from a July private placement involving directors Martin Kowcun and William Timothy Heenan.
