The escapees used makeshift fabric hammocks to descend and fled fugitives navigated through a pipe conduit into plumbing duct and exited the building via a second hole, traveling approximately 80 meters to a nearby river. Authorities noted that high water levels in the river hindered the ability to track footprints or determine the escapees' direction of travel. Investigations are examining how the escape was planned, as the lack of recent construction debris suggests the wall may have been breached over several days. Security concerns have been raised because surveillance cameras in the high-security zone had been damaged, hindering monitoring maximum security area were non-functional during the incident.
