Private jet runway excursion in Las Vegas

Overview

On October 18, 2026, a Dassault Falcon 50 private jet carrying eight passengers, including actor and singer Donnie Wahlberg and actress Amy Jo Johnson, skidded off a runway at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. The aircraft was attempting to depart for Toronto Pearson International Airport when it failed to gain altitude, prompting the pilot to abort the takeoff. The plane subsequently ran out of runway and struck a perimeter fence.

No injuries were reported following the incident. Both Wahlberg and Johnson shared their experiences on social media, with Wahlberg describing the event as “a rather intense few moments” and Johnson referring to it as a “hairy plane situation.”

The accident resulted in the temporary closure of runways 1R and 1L for safety inspections. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation into the cause of the failed takeoff.
