Procter & Gamble financial performance

Overview

Procter & Gamble initially faced growth challenges due to consumer spending restraint and exhausted pricing power. During its annual general meeting in mid-October 2026, management addressed slowing momentum, noting that revenue had increased only 2 percent in the previous quarter while adjusted earnings per share fell by 3 percent.

By late October 2026, the company reported first-quarter fiscal 2027 results that exceeded analyst expectations. Net revenue reached approximately US$ 23.3 billion, a 4% increase year-over-year, supported by a 2.4% increase in sales volume and 6.4% growth in the beauty category. While the fabric and home care division saw significant volume gains, the grooming and health segments experienced slight declines. CFO Andre Schulten noted a “divided economy,” where high-income consumers favor new launches while lower-income households focus on value brands.

Despite robust sales, the company raised its annual cost outlook, expecting raw materials, energy, and transportation expenses to reduce fiscal 2027 profit by approximately $1.4 billion. Schulten attributed these headwinds to geopolitical tensions and higher oil prices, noting the estimate assumes a Brent crude price of $100 per barrel.

Following the acquisition of the supplement company Thorne, P&G raised its full-year revenue growth forecast to a range of 2% to 4%, up from the previous 1% to 3% estimate. The company maintained its guidance for organic sales growth between 1% and 3% and core earnings per share between $6.89 and $7.11.
