Overview
A series of fires occurred in the southern Buenos Aires metropolitan area during early October 2026.
On October 5, a major blaze in Ingeniero Budge, Lomas de Zamora, destroyed a residence and a grill establishment in the Nueva Esperanza neighborhood. While the structure was a total loss, no injuries were reported as occupants evacuated. Nearby homes sustained minor damage from the heat.
On October 9, a bus from line 219 caught fire at an intersection in Berazategui. The driver successfully evacuated 25 passengers, including children and an infant, before the vehicle was completely consumed. The fire also caused damage to a nearby house, a home goods store, and local infrastructure, including electrical cables and a traffic light.
