Protests against injustice in State of Mexico

Overview

Demonstrations have occurred on the Periférico Norte near Naucalpan, State of Mexico, to demand accountability for violence and inaction by the State of Mexico Attorney General's Office (FGJEM).

Initial protests involved relatives and friends of victims of feminicides and disappearances, who blocked roads to demand progress in official investigations. These actions caused significant traffic congestion and tensions between demonstrators and motorists.

Later demonstrations involved truck drivers and family members protesting the murder of a tow truck operator. The victim was reportedly shot four times by a motorist during a traffic incident on October 27. Protesters held an improvised wake on the highway, placing a coffin across the lanes, and accused the FGJEM of inaction despite the availability of photographic and technical evidence to identify the suspect.
