Public health emergency response training in Argentina

Overview

Health officials in Argentina have initiated training programs focused on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the Heimlich maneuver. These sessions, held at the Salón del Bicentenario, were specifically designed for journalists and social communicators to equip them with tools to provide immediate assistance during emergencies before specialized medical teams arrive.

Supported by the Ministry of Public Health and the provincial government, the initiative aims to improve emergency response by encouraging citizens to recognize emergencies, request help, and perform basic life-saving maneuvers. Dive Mohamed, General Director of Sanitary Management, stated that training the community is a “fundamental tool for improving emergency response.”
