Public health initiatives in Nova Iguaçu, Brazil, have focused on both preventive community outreach and institutional quality improvements. Hospital Geral de Nova Iguaçu earned the certification for the second consecutive year, while Hospital Iguassú Maternidade Mariana Bulhões received the distinction for the first time. These were the only public network hospitals in the Baixada Fluminense region to be honored. To qualify, institutions must demonstrate consistent performance in notifying, classifying, investigating, and treating adverse events, with specific criteria regarding the speed of early detection and investigation timelines. Nationally, 325 Brazilian institutions received the seal this year, representing a 41.8% increase from the previous edition.
