Public order disturbances in Zulia state

Overview

Authorities in Zulia state, Venezuela, have conducted several operations to address public order disturbances and physical altercations.

In early September, police operations in Cabimas led to the detention of two women at the Germán Ríos Linares Parish Intendancy, while in Maracaibo, two men were arrested following a physical altercation near the Las Pulgas market. Both sets of individuals were handed over to the Public Ministry.

By mid-September, Maracaibo police arrested a woman, Deliz Hernández Pérez, following the circulation of a viral video. The footage showed her engaging in verbal aggression and property damage at a Traki commercial establishment, during which she reportedly claimed, “Tú no sabes quién soy yo” (You don't know who I am). She was apprehended by the Maracaibo Municipal Police and placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry.
