Public space and heritage renovations in Mallorca

Public space and heritage projects have been completed in Mallorca, Spain.

Patrimonio Nacional finished a €2.573 million restoration of the Almudaina Palace, the official residence of the Spanish monarchs in Mallorca. Funded by the EU-backed Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, the project opened four previously closed rooms and a gallery to the public. The site now features guided tours covering historical periods from Roman foundations to the Bourbon era, alongside displays of archaeological artifacts. The adjacent Marivent gardens have also been highlighted for their Mediterranean design and sustainable maintenance.

In Palma, the City Council completed a €171,000 renovation of the Plaza de la Inmaculada in the Establiments neighborhood. This project focused on urban quality, safety, and accessibility through pavement and stair renovations, the construction of a raised pedestrian crossing, and the installation of new railings. Infrastructure upgrades included undergrounding electrical lines and renewing drainage and rainwater systems. This work is part of the ‘Plan Renove de Establiments,’ a broader €1.129 million investment in the neighborhood's public spaces and facilities.
