Public transport subsidies and updates in Veneto
Overview
In August 2026, regional and local authorities in Italy introduced measures to support public transport users. The Veneto region announced the ‘Buono TPL Veneto 2026’, a 5 million euro subsidy program providing discounts of up to 200 euros for first-time applicants and 160 euros for returning beneficiaries of annual subscriptions for buses, trams, or regional trains.
Concurrently, Actv launched its 2026–2027 subscription campaign for the Venice metropolitan area. Supported by the Municipality and the Metropolitan City, transit fares for urban and extra-urban travel were kept unchanged to assist local families. This campaign is part of a larger modernization strategy by Avm/Actv involving fleet renewals and a transition toward digital ticketing systems.
