Qazi Touqeer's journey and rising popularity in Bigg Boss 20

Overview

Singer Qazi Touqeer, the winner of the 2005 singing competition Fame Gurukul, has become a central figure in Bigg Boss 20. His participation has sparked renewed interest in his career and his long-standing friendship with singer Arijit Singh, who expressed support for Touqeer on social media, calling him ‘Apna Rockstar QAZI’. During the show, Touqeer has shared personal details, including information about his wife, Ifsa, and addressed internet rumors regarding Singh’s personal life.

House dynamics have grown increasingly volatile. Tensions escalated during nomination tasks, specifically through a heated confrontation between Touqeer and ScoutOP. While Touqeer has used humor and ‘secret trolling’ to manage the high-pressure environment, former contestant Rohed Khan later claimed he felt ‘cheated,’ suggesting Touqeer used his health issues to gain sympathy during arguments.

Despite health concerns involving a fever, Touqeer has remained in the house under medical supervision. He has also gained attention for forming an unconventional bond with a tiger statue named Taskar, a behavior supported by former winner Shilpa Shinde. Resource management has caused further friction; following a ranking process by Love Gill, Aasif Khan was appointed captain, resulting in the house securing only 25% of its weekly ration.

By week seven, Touqeer emerged as a popularity leader. During a Weekend Ka Vaar episode, guest host Rohit Shetty praised his performance and promised him a playback singing opportunity for an upcoming film, stating, ‘Your time has come.’
