Rail travel promotions and schedule updates in Poland

Rail operators have introduced various travel promotions in Poland. PKP Intercity and Leo Express announced autumn offers, including the ‘Polish-German Friendship Ticket’ initiative to increase mobility for those aged 18 to 27. Leo Express also launched a ‘1+50%’ discount for groups, while PKP Intercity introduced promotional tickets starting at 10 PLN.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, PKP Intercity launched a three-day promotion from September 23 to September 25, 2026, offering 35 percent discounts on single-use tickets for direct domestic connections. This sale, available online, via mobile applications, and at station offices, covers various categories including IC, TLK, EIC, and EIP. For IC and TLK trains, the discount follows the standard 30-day advance booking window. For EIP and EIC trains, tickets purchased on September 23 and 24 cover travel through October 24, while those bought on September 25 cover travel through December 12. However, the discount excludes sleeper cars, couchettes, and ICN category trains, and is not valid for travel on October 14 and 20 due to other scheduled promotions.

This initiative follows a period of growth, with the carrier transporting 44.7 million passengers in the first half of 2026, an 11 percent increase over the previous year. In honor of European Senior Day, a ‘Podróż za Dychę dla Seniora’ (Ten Zloty Journey for Seniors) campaign will offer 10 PLN tickets for passengers aged 60 and older on October 20, 2026. A similar 10 PLN promotion for students, teachers, and researchers is scheduled for October 14, 2026, to mark National Education Day.

Regarding operations, PKP Intercity has extended its cooperation with PGE Energetyka Kolejowa through 2028 to ensure stable electricity supplies and aim for 100% renewable energy source (RES) guarantees. Schedule updates for late 2026 include increased connections between Bielsko-Biała and Krakow, and Szczecin and Warsaw.
