Initially, authorities warned of ‘cyber-slavery’ involving international syndicates. These groups reportedly lure job seekers with false promises of high-paying roles in Southeast Asian countries, such as Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand. Once victims arrive, criminals may seize their documents and coerce them into participating in online scams, including cryptocurrency fraud and fake investment schemes.

Subsequently, the police issued a warning regarding cyber fraud facilitated through fake pornographic Android applications. Criminals use social media to circulate links to phishing websites that prompt users to download malicious APK files. These apps can gain full control over mobile devices by requesting sensitive accessibility permissions, potentially allowing attackers to hijack bank accounts and steal funds.
