Rúben Rodrigues wins Rali da Água

Overview

Rúben Rodrigues secured victory at the Rali da Água, marking his fourth win of the season and significantly strengthening his position in the Portuguese Rally Championship (CPR). Driving a Toyota Yaris with co-driver Rui Raimundo, Rodrigues completed the ten stages with a time of 55:32.1.

Rodrigues finished 14.8 seconds ahead of second-place Ricardo Teodósio, who drove a Citroën C3, while Guilherme Meireles secured third place in a Skoda Fabia. Although Rafael Rego briefly pressured the leader during the second stage, reducing the gap to 1.4 seconds, a puncture cost Rego approximately three minutes, allowing Rodrigues to maintain control of the pace.

This victory brings Rodrigues to 125 championship points, establishing a 33-point lead over Pedro Almeida, who currently sits in second place with 92 points, and a 50-point lead over Ricardo Teodósio. With three rallies remaining and 84 points still available, the championship remains active under regulations that allow drivers to discard their worst result from the eight scheduled events.
