Jeetendra Mishra assumes role as first Ram Mandir Trust CEO
Overview
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has officially appointed retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra as its first Chief Executive Officer (CEO). A decorated veteran with nearly 40 years of service in the Indian Air Force, including roles such as Western Air Command chief and commander during Operation Sindoor, Mishra was selected from a pool of 5,585 applicants following a rigorous, AI-assisted screening process.
Mishra has formally assumed office with a mandate to oversee temple administration, security coordination, pilgrim facilities, staff administration, and financial management. He will also serve as a coordinator between various government departments and agencies. To support this leadership, the Trust intends to establish a two-tier administrative structure by appointing a deputy CEO from existing candidate panels. While the CEO manages broad functions and government coordination, the deputy CEO will focus on day-to-day operations, including IT, HR, and project management. This restructuring aims to streamline operations and support the long-term vision of establishing Ayodhya as a global cultural capital.
In addition to the CEO appointment, the Trust has finalized several key leadership roles. Swami Govind Dev Giri has been appointed General Secretary, and Mahesh Bhagchandka has been named Treasurer. New trustees include Madan Mohan Pandey, Mahesh Bhagchandka, and Dr. Nirmala Yadav. These changes follow previous resignations and allegations regarding the handling of donations.
During a recent meeting, the Trust approved audited financial statements for the 2025-26 period, reporting an income of 237 crore rupees against expenditures of 91 crore rupees. The Trust also addressed the progress of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into alleged financial irregularities and is moving forward with technological solutions, such as automated machines, to modernize the counting of cash offerings.
