Mythri Movie Makers has announced the release details for the period action drama ‘Ranabaali’. The film, directed by Rahul Sankrityan, is set in 19th-century South India during the British colonial era and focuses on a rebellious warrior. Following the announcement of a worldwide theatrical release date of October 16, 2026, the production house confirmed that a teaser for the film would be released on September 9. The teaser has since been released, featuring lead actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna. The teaser highlights the film’s historical backdrop of the Madras Famine of 1876–1878, a period characterized by drought and colonial-era hardship. The narrative follows Singanamala Bobbili Ranabaali, played by Deverakonda, a man from Rayalaseema who rises against British rule. The plot specifically touches upon ~~the Madras Famine of 1876-1878 and~~ the actions of an English officer, Sir Theodore Hector, played by Arnold Vosloo. Mandanna portrays Jayamma, the protagonist’s wife and partner in the struggle. The film aims to depict the authentic culture, landscape, and dialect of the Rayalaseema region.
