Regional athletic competitions in Argentina

Overview

Various regional sporting events took place across Argentina in October 2026. In Formosa, the Juegos Evita Formoseños concluded with adapted athletics competitions involving approximately 300 to 330 athletes with disabilities. The event included disciplines such as sprints, shot put, and long jump. Governor Gildo Insfrán attended the provincial finals for the Under-18 category at the Centro de Educación Física y de Alto Rendimiento (CEF) 1, where delegations from 29 institutions participated. Local officials highlighted the social value of inclusion, contrasting provincial support for disability programs with current national administration policies.

In Río Grande, Tierra del Fuego, the Centro Provincial de Alto Rendimiento (CePAR) hosted the final round of the Patagonian Olympic Weightlifting League and the provincial finals of the Juegos Fueguinos. These competitions served as qualifiers for the Juegos Nacionales Evita. The weightlifting event featured multiple divisions, including Sub 15, Sub 17, Sub 20, and Absolute categories. Noelia Alcaraz and Uriel Peña were recognized as the best lifters, with other winners including Guadalupe Isoardi, Kyara Pino, Agostina Tauriani, Maite Sanabria, Lautaro Benítez, Alejo Oyarzo, and Santino Bustamante.

Following these regional qualifiers, athletes from Tierra del Fuego competed in the 2026 Evita National Games in Mar del Plata. During the third day of competition, Isabella Bianchi won gold in the hexathlon and judoka David Pinedo secured first place in the under 73 kilogram category. The provincial delegation has since accumulated a total of six medals, including three silver and one bronze, with notable performances in the heptathlon, adapted athletics javelin throw, and U14 rhythmic gymnastics.
