Regional health and social initiatives in Europe and Africa

Overview

Various regional and national initiatives are being implemented across Europe and West Africa. In Burkina Faso, 1,888 health professionals, known as ‘Sentinelles de la santé’, have completed patriotic immersion training to prepare for their service roles.

In France, community and academic programs include a neighborhood referent program in Angres to improve local dialogue and the renewal of a social action council in Saint-Varent. Educational and academic efforts include inclusive school programs in Belgium and a doctoral residency at the Maison des Sciences sociales et des Humanités Ange-Guépin. Social welfare initiatives such as ‘Semaine Bleue’ and ‘Déj’Aînés’ in Marseille are also being organized to support retirees and combat elderly isolation.
