Regional prosecutor cooperation on organized crime
Overview
In late October 2026, multiple international forums were held to strengthen judicial cooperation against transnational crime.
In Belgrade, the Permanent Conference of Organized Crime Prosecutors held its annual meeting to mark the tenth anniversary of its Declaration of Intent. The conference, which includes 15 prosecutor offices from 14 European countries, saw Spain officially join the network, with an invitation extended to France. Discussions focused on modern criminal challenges such as high-tech crime, money laundering via virtual assets, and the management of electronic evidence.
Concurrently, the 5th Balkan Prosecutors Forum convened in Antalya, Turkey. This forum brought together delegations from several Balkan nations, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Romania, and Slovenia, alongside Georgia. The assembly focused on enhancing judicial cooperation to combat international crime, terrorism, and irregular migration.
