Regional talent and music competition programs have recently highlighted various interpersonal dynamics and personal anecdotes from judges and performers.

In the program ‘Supertalent’, episodes have featured both lighthearted banter between judges Maja Šuput and Martina Tomčić and more intense disagreements. During one segment, judge Davor Bilman criticized a performance by Mandeep Kumar Manu, labeling it a ‘pjesmuljak’, though the contestant advanced after earning three out of four votes. Tension also arose between Šuput and Tomčić following Tomčić’s questioning of a contestant’s attire; specifically, Šuput criticized Tomčić for asking rapper Gordon Falker about his clothing in German rather than focusing on his singing.

Media observers have also raised questions regarding the show’s quality, suggesting that after 13 seasons, the program may be struggling to find exceptional talent that meets the expected standards of a major competition.

In the Slovenian show ‘Pa brez zamere’, guest judge Manca Špik discussed her history with performance anxiety, noting that early in her career, stage fright caused physical illness. She encouraged new musicians to prioritize experience and sincere interpretation alongside technical ability.
