Release of Greek drama series Two Black Shirts

The MEGA television network has announced the premiere date for its new drama series, ‘Two Black Shirts’ (Δυο μαύρα πουκάμισα). The series is scheduled to debut on Sunday, September 20, at 21:00 with a double episode.

Based on the book by Menios Sakellaropoulos, the production features a screenplay by Emmanuela Alexiou and is directed by Marios Karamanis and Kostas Kimoulis. The plot explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the impact of long-hidden secrets through the relationship between Manousos Grylogiannis (Vasilis Bismpikis), a successful and intense Cretan cheesemaker, and Sifis Skarfalakis (Antonis Myriagos), his calm and introverted lifelong friend. Their bond is disrupted by the arrival of Markella (Marianna Kimouli), whose presence uncovers hidden truths and dilemmas. The ensemble cast also includes Nikos Verlekis and Eleni Gerasimidou.

In preparation for the launch, the music video for the series’ title song has been released. The track is a collaboration featuring music by Stefanos Korkolis, lyrics by Nikos Moraïtis, and vocals by Manolis Kontaros. Inspired by the rugged, mountainous landscapes of Chania, the song blends the traditional sound of the Cretan lute with modern musical elements to capture the essence of Crete. Korkolis described the project as a ‘deeply emotional experience’ due to Kontaros’s performance.
