Turkey has organized various running events to commemorate the anniversary of the Republic. In Zeytinburnu, Istanbul, the 17th Republic Run took place, featuring a 10-kilometer course with 2,026 registered athletes.

To mark the 103rd anniversary of the Republic, the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality announced the International Osmangazi Republic Run, scheduled for October 29. The event aims to host approximately 6,000 participants from 19 different countries for a 10-kilometer race and a 5-kilometer public run. Dr. Hayri Baraçlı, General Secretary of the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, stated that the event is intended to connect the historical heritage of the Republic with the future goals of young people, using the Osmangazi Bridge as a symbol of Turkey’s infrastructure and engineering capacity.

In Kadıköy, approximately 3,500 athletes participated in a ‘10K Republic Run’ at the Caddebostan Çetin Emeç Event Area. Organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Turkish Athletics Federation, and the Istanbul Governorship, the race included professional athletes and members of the public. Every participant was awarded a medal, and the event included interactive games and stage performances.
