Revolut digital currency and AI expansion

Fintech company Revolut has expanded its digital offerings through the introduction of new cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence tools. The company launched EURR, a euro-denominated stablecoin pegged 1:1 to the euro and issued by Stripe-owned Bridge. Initially available to selected customers in Portugal, Denmark, and Poland, the stablecoin operates on the Ethereum blockchain and is designed to comply with the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation.

Simultaneously, Revolut has advanced its artificial intelligence capabilities. The company established Revolut Research, a dedicated unit that developed PRAGMA, a transformer-based foundation model designed to improve fraud detection and credit risk prediction.

Following these developments, Revolut launched AIR (AI by Revolut), an integrated AI assistant available across several European markets, including France, Italy, Poland, Romania, Germany, Austria, Portugal, and Greece. Designed to act as a ‘financial co-pilot’, AIR allows users to manage accounts through a conversational chat interface. Key functionalities include expense analysis, subscription management, investment monitoring, and administrative tasks such as blocking lost cards. The assistant also supports travel planning via itineraries and bookings through the Stays feature, and helps users redeem RevPoints for services like eSIM data packages.

Revolut has emphasized a strict data privacy policy, stating that customer data is not stored by external AI partners or used to train third-party large language models. Julia Ponomareva, Partner and General Manager for CX and AI Products at Revolut, noted that the tool aims to provide a ‘new level of financial intelligence’ that remains simple to use without compromising privacy.
