Rimini urban redevelopment projects

Overview

The Rimini municipal government has initiated several projects to transform local spaces into multifunctional community hubs.

In late October 2026, officials approved a 270,000 euro project to convert the Ala Moderna section of the City Museum into a center for adolescents and young people aged 11 to 21. This renovation includes upgrading the ground floor with new flooring, doors, LED lighting, and fire detection systems, as well as replacing the climate control with an energy-efficient heat pump and installing a Wi-Fi network for educational laboratories.

By early November 2026, the city approved an additional 600,000 euro investment to restore the Sala Jolly within the former Cinema Astoria. This project focuses on installing new air conditioning and ventilation systems to ensure the ground floor is functional for the community, continuing a long-term redevelopment effort for the Astoria building that began in 2014.
