Major expressways in Rio de Janeiro are experiencing significant disruptions due to criminal activity and law enforcement actions. On one occasion, Military Police intercepted an attempted cargo theft on the Linha Amarela near the Complexo da Maré, which resulted in heavy traffic congestion on both the Linha Amarela and the Linha Vermelha.
