Riot Games 2XKO game shutdown

Overview

Riot Games has announced the discontinuation of support for its fighting game, 2XKO, due to insufficient player numbers. Following a period of layoffs, the company is implementing measures for existing users, including unlocking all champions, bundling cosmetic items, and issuing refunds for purchases made on or before August 20, 2026.

To complete the game’s roster before the shutdown, the final update, Patch 1.3.3, will introduce the characters Samira and Sett on October 27, 2026. Communication manager Ben ‘Draggles’ Forbes noted that Sett’s development was fast-tracked by an internal ‘Sett pod’ to meet quality standards by July.

Official communications are scheduled to conclude on November 6, 2026, with a final minor balance and bug-fix patch planned for November 12. Active development of the title is expected to end in December 2026.
