Río Negro administrative modernization efforts

The government of Río Negro, Argentina, is undertaking efforts to modernize its public administration through digitalization and the reduction of bureaucracy.

Initially, authorities focused on reorganizing the Provincial Administrative Archive. This involved purging physical documentation that no longer held concrete value and moving files to a permanent facility to end the practice of using scattered rented locations. Under Decree 747/26, the Ministry of Education and Human Rights also established a dedicated Purging Area to manage the elimination of paper files and facilitate the transition to digital formats.

Building on these administrative reorganizations, the province launched ‘Al Día RN’. This program aims to simplify procedures for civil associations, foundations, and commercial societies by digitizing requirements and centralizing processes such as entity constitution, authority updates, and annual documentation. The initiative follows a principle where the State avoids requesting information it already possesses, moving toward a digital headquarters for submissions and payments.
