Road accidents in Malaysia

Overview

Multiple fatal vehicle collisions have been reported in different regions of Malaysia.

In Perak, a multi-vehicle accident on the East-West Highway near Tasik Banding resulted in four deaths, including a young girl. Preliminary police investigations indicate a Perodua Axia lost control and entered the opposite lane, striking a Proton Persona before becoming wedged under a Hino lorry. One 9-year-old boy sustained serious injuries.

In Sabah, a separate incident occurred at a roundabout in Penampang where a Proton Persona veered off the road and caught fire. The driver died at the scene, while a passenger was transported to Queen Elizabeth I Hospital in critical condition.
