Robbie Savage managerial transition

Following a 3-3 draw against Sutton United, Forest Green Rovers manager Robbie Savage addressed speculation regarding the vacant managerial position at Peterborough United. At that time, Savage stated his focus remained entirely on Forest Green and his commitment to his current club.

However, Savage was subsequently appointed as the manager of Peterborough United in League One. He moves to the club while they are positioned 23rd in the league. While some observers have questioned his suitability due to his background in non-league management, supporters have highlighted his charisma and media presence as potential assets for the club.

More recently, Forest Green confirmed that Savage has been granted permission to speak with Peterborough United after being offered the manager’s position. Forest Green chairman Dale Vince stated that Savage requested to leave the club for “personal reasons,” noting that the club understands and respects his decision. Savage’s tenure at Forest Green included a seventh-place finish in the National League following a period of early-season momentum. Peterborough United is seeking a replacement following the dismissal of Luke Williams on 19 September.
