Romania has implemented changes to the Friendship Bridge (Giurgiu-Ruse) crossing between Romania and Bulgaria. As of October 1, Romania eliminated crossing fees for vehicles traveling from Romania to Bulgaria as part of its new TollRo electronic road tolling system, aiming to reduce congestion. However, fees remain for those traveling from Bulgaria to Romania. The full rehabilitation project is scheduled for completion by December 3, 2026.
