In late July 2026 Romania began rolling out smart lighting in historic city centres and sensor‑controlled lighting for factories, reporting up to 85 % energy savings at sites such as the Kendrion plant. The Bucharest City Council ~~also~~ examined proposals for new public parks, while Buzău County announced EU‑funded industrial parks costing roughly €9 million each. A week later municipal authorities approved additional green‑space and industrial initiatives. Odorheiu Secuiesc will turn 3.2 ha of the Târnava Mare riverbank into an agri‑recreation zone, financed with 5.1 million lei from the Regional Development Agency. Bucharest’s two park projects – a 944 m² site in Sector 1 (≈ 1.57 million lei) and a 17,609 m² site in Sector 5 (≈ 10.5 million lei) – aim to reduce the capital’s green‑space deficit. Sibiu’s Sub Arini park is being re‑amenated with a 52 million‑lei budget, including €3.3 million EU cohesion funding. In Buzău County, the A7 Parc Industrial Slam Râmnic and All Logistic Buzău will each receive about €9 million in EU support, bringing total regional industrial‑park funding to roughly €18 million. Sebeș also adopted various local proposals, including a twinning agreement with Bussolengo, Italy. Later in July, county and municipal bodies expanded the focus to health, transport and additional green infrastructure. Olt County endorsed an expansion of a mental‑health centre and a new addiction‑prevention facility in Slatina. Prahova County moved to secure up to €10.5 million from the EU Just Transition Fund to modernise the Ploiești Industrial Park at Bărcănești. Brașov signed a €41.8 million EU‑funded contract for ten electric articulated buses to extend public‑transport lines 28 and 2B. Gorj County approved a €12 million extension of the Târgu Jiu County Hospital mental‑health centre. Maramureș County completed an €83 million overpass at Baia Mare’s entrance, improving traffic flow.
