Romanian footballers Drăgușin and Munteanu setbacks

Overview

Romanian international players Radu Drăgușin and Louis Munteanu have faced recent professional challenges. Radu Drăgușin, a defender for Fiorentina, drew media scrutiny following a red card during a Nations League match against Poland.

Louis Munteanu, a striker for DC United, sustained an ankle injury during training with the Romanian national team. Initial reports indicated he would be sidelined for two to three weeks, causing him to miss several MLS fixtures. Subsequent updates confirm Munteanu is recovering from the sprain and is expected to resume running shortly, with a tentative return to club action projected for November 7. He remains included in Romania’s plans for upcoming Nations League fixtures in mid-November.

Recent reports clarify that Drăgușin has faced scrutiny from Italian media regarding underwhelming performances with the national team, specifically noting he played a full match against Sweden before being sent off after only 22 minutes in the match against Poland. Despite these international setbacks, he reportedly maintains a secure starting position at Fiorentina.

Munteanu’s injury status was further detailed following a second MRI in the United States, confirming he will be out of action for two to three weeks, which includes missing upcoming MLS fixtures such as the match against Inter Miami.
