Romanian handball broadcasting Handball Federation expands TV rights competition with Digi

The Romanian Handball Federation is preparing for a new broadcasting cycle for its top-tier leagues starting in the 2026–2027 season. As the previous contract cycle concludes, TVR and has reached an agreement with Digi Sport are competing for to expand media coverage of domestic competitions, complementing the rights. TVR is reportedly a strong contender for existing broadcasting arrangement with TVR. This partnership aims to provide fans with increased access to both the men’s and women’s first-division matches and the Romanian Cup, national leagues. The new contract is valid for a single competitive season, with potential plans both parties scheduled to televise up renegotiate terms next summer. Under the terms of the agreement, Digi Sport will broadcast one or two matches per week from the Liga Florilor, contingent upon the importance of the points at stake and production logistics. The channel is also slated to four broadcast men’s league matches per round. as scheduling permits. Regarding match selection, Digi Sport is reportedly focusing on will utilize options 3 and 4 in the women’s league due to high viewership.
