Romanian Handball Federation expands TV rights with Digi

Overview

The Romanian Handball Federation has reached an agreement with Digi Sport to expand media coverage of domestic competitions, complementing the existing broadcasting arrangement with TVR. This partnership aims to provide fans with increased access to both the men’s and women’s national leagues.

The new contract is valid for a single competitive season, with both parties scheduled to renegotiate terms next summer. Under the terms of the agreement, Digi Sport will broadcast one or two matches per week from the Liga Florilor, contingent upon the importance of the points at stake and production logistics. The channel is also slated to broadcast men’s league matches as scheduling permits.

Regarding match selection, Digi Sport will utilize options 3 and 4 in the match selection grid, meaning they will select their featured matches only after TVR has established its primary options for each round. The new broadcasts are scheduled to debut this week, beginning with a live match between Corona Brașov and Rapid București.
