PNRR‑funded projects keep expanding initiatives continue to broaden across Romania. In Brașov, the city hall earmarked 350,000 lei to resume drafting a zoning plan for the former Rulmentul industrial platform, including hazardous‑waste cleanup, while a Central Region call launched €10.85 million of non‑reimbursable grants for new and upgraded industrial parks. Mayor George Scripcaru announced an accelerated programme of school repairs, sanitisation and modernisation to be carried out during the summer break, and disclosed plans to acquire about two hectares in the Tractorul‑Coresi area for a brand‑new school with sports halls and courtyards. A 150‑lei sport‑voucher scheme for pupils aged 6‑18 will start in September. The Commune of Redea completed its voluntary‑contribution waste‑collection centre on 31 Oct 2025, funded with 3.83 million lei plus VAT. The Cluj County Council purchased seven state‑of‑the‑art medical devices for the Scr rehabilitation hospital, valued at 2.7 million lei plus VAT, to raise care quality to private‑sector standards. These actions complement earlier initiatives such as parking‑space refurbishments in Bucharest, insurance renewal for New water‑infrastructure projects are under way under the PNRR: Brebeni (Olt) will extend its sewer network with a €16.5 million grant; the Brașov Airport’s virtual tower, energy‑efficiency upgrades in Mehedinţi Zoo is drilling a 300‑metre well (≈500 klei); Aquatim will replace pipes and Hunedoara, Danube‑promenade revitalisation clean networks in Galaţi, Timișoara and Lugoj, causing temporary interruptions; Salaj County is refinancing loans to free financing for sanitary and road works; and a new sewer‑water supply system is being built in Bucovăț. Healthcare upgrades face mixed progress. In Brașov, the recent leadership change at TAROM. Regina Maria Military Emergency Hospital’s Pavilion B redesign was rejected by the Heritage Monuments Commission, postponing the addition of a 125‑bed pavilion and seven operating theatres. In Buzău, a feasibility study for a 300‑bed municipal hospital and adjoining university medical centre, staff housing, nursing home and commercial zone has been finalized, with detailed design and construction to follow. Urban and sports infrastructure also advance.
