Rondonópolis real estate tax incentive proposals
Overview
The municipality of Rondonópolis has introduced two legislative programs, ‘Regulariza’ and ‘Avança Rondonópolis’, designed to stimulate the local construction and real estate sectors through tax incentives.
The ‘Regulariza’ program aims to assist low and middle-income residents with property regularization by reducing the Real Estate Transfer Tax (ITBI) from 2% to 0.5% and waiving interest and penalties on overdue Property Tax (IPTU).
The ‘Avança Rondonópolis’ initiative targets developers by reducing the ITBI to 1% for large land acquisitions, offering full IPTU exemptions during the construction phase, and providing subsequent IPTU discounts for completed units.
As the proposals move toward a City Council vote, the municipality is also conducting public hearings regarding the 2027 municipal budget, including the Budgetary Guidelines Law (LDO) and the Annual Budget Law (LOA).
