Roraima electoral processes and gubernatorial race

The electoral process in Roraima has transitioned from a period of legal scrutiny and registration reviews to a finalized field of candidates for the governorship.

Initially, the Regional Electoral Court (TRE-RR) was tasked with processing hundreds of registration requests for various offices, with a deadline of September 14. During this phase, legal disputes were prominent, including an appeal to the Supreme Federal Court (STF) by the state government and Legislative Assembly to block the candidacy of former state deputy Jalser Renier.

Following these reviews, the gubernatorial race was narrowed to four qualified candidates: Arthur Henrique (PL), Farah Mesquita (Solidariedade), Rosi Aires (PSOL), and Soldado Sampaio (Republicanos). Clébio Genuíno (PCO) was ruled ineligible by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

As the campaign progressed, candidates focused on educational platforms ranging from performance metrics and technology to school modernization and management changes. The electoral cycle also saw legal rulings regarding campaign advertising and the use of public resources. The first round of voting is set for October 4.
