Rosario Fiorello return to Rai 1

Overview

Entertainer Rosario Fiorello announced his return to the Italian network Rai 1 through a social media video parodying a Brad Pitt advertisement. The announcement, which noted he had not hosted a major solo variety show on the flagship network since 2011, sparked significant social media engagement and suggested a potential debut following mid-October.

Subsequent reports confirmed Fiorello is returning to Rai 1 with multiple projects. He is currently filming a new series titled ‘Game Over,’ produced by Lux Vide in collaboration with Rai Fiction, in which he portrays a magistrate. Filming for this series is taking place in Rome and Florence and is expected to continue through December.

A new promotional spot released by the network has clarified that Fiorello will return to Rai 1 prime time on Sunday, October 18, at 20:30, alongside Fabrizio Biggio. The advertisement features the duo discussing their upcoming variety project.

This development has raised questions regarding the future of the game show ‘Affari Tuoi,’ which currently occupies the Sunday 20:30 time slot. While there is speculation regarding whether the new project will be a satirical strip or a Sunday format, a complete cancellation of ‘Affari Tuoi,’ hosted by Stefano De Martino, appears unlikely as episodes for October have reportedly already been recorded and archived.
