Russia-Africa media cooperation expansion

Overview

Russian media entities have expanded their presence and partnerships across the African continent. The news agency Sputnik opened new multifunctional editorial centers in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and Johannesburg, South Africa, employing local journalists to produce content in languages such as English and Swahili. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated during the inauguration that this expansion aims to provide information without “ideological filters.”

Following these openings, the Africa-Russia Media Forum in Moscow facilitated further strategic agreements.
