Russia-Ukraine conflict diplomatic and military stance

Russian officials have maintained a consistent stance regarding the conflict in Ukraine, emphasizing that any resolution must meet Moscow’s specific conditions to avoid global escalation. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov has indicated that the Russian military will continue operations as the situation for Kyiv deteriorates, noting that requirements for ending the conflict remain unchanged from those established by President Vladimir Putin and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dmitri Medvedev, Vice President of the Security Council, warned that failing to conclude hostilities on Russia’s terms could result in a worldwide conflict and leave the state vulnerable to hybrid warfare.

By late September, the Kremlin reported no progress in resolving the conflict. While Peskov confirmed the continuation of the “special military operation,” he noted that Russia remains open to the possibility of resuming trilateral negotiations. Additionally, the Kremlin characterized recent Ukrainian attacks during Russian elections as attempts at sabotage intended to disrupt the voting process, though officials claimed these actions had no effect.
